It’s 8 am and my animal charges are all checked and are for. Gary and I are fed and caffeinated too. I have just one small dog on the grooming roster today, but no shortage of other work needing doing. Gary is going out to fetch firewood. I felt like I wanted to say “Good … Continue reading

The “lineup” today for grooming is varied. Little Baxter, always a joy, needs a full spa treatment, one of the poms needs a full shear down, the other pom just bath, brush and nails, and nails all around. I’ve been warned that Zeus will be naughty for nails, but we’ll see. I remember that I’ve … Continue reading

Mica was so sore yesterday after playing hard with the Bullmastiff pup. Neither dog was aggressive, but they could roughhouse with equal enthusiasm. The other youngster is fine. Mica is feeling much better this morning. I didn’t take a photo, but it looked like art. I made Gary french toast for breakfast, with banana and … Continue reading

It dawned on me yesterday that Roper and Nocona were coming here not for boarding today, but to be groomed! That was just fine also. 🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾🐾 All the other guests were fed, watered and accounted for, the “lifers” too. The stupid chickens haven’t laid a single egg for weeks; they are moulting, but over time … Continue reading

Yesterday was great, but tiring. Mica and I went to Dome Creek in mid-morning. The community is an hour’s drive from here, or at least the turn-off from the highway is! Then one takes a meandering slow road for what seems like 10 miles. It is beautiful and remote. Some land owners are living off … Continue reading

Who knows where dreams come from? Even to acknowledge that they come from our subconscious mind does not explain some. As I slept, I was travelling in a country that doesn’t even exist by this name, Czechoslovakia. I was struggling with the language barrier and had misplaced my passport. I was relieved to wake up … Continue reading

The schedule is not full. Shadow the schnoodle is coming for his spa morning. Tilly arrived for just the day, so we have Larkin, Frieda, Casey, Sparky, Fin and Tilly. Feels like being semi-retired; I’m okay with that. More rain in the forecast today. I am trying to find time to clean up the garden, … Continue reading

It has been a good day. Again. As usual! Snowy came for grooming, and while I worked, three boarding dogs arrived. Everyone noticed and praised the quiet dog sitting on the table, secured for her own safety when I had to step a foot or two away to greet the others. Snowy looks and acts … Continue reading
The rest of Wednesday…
Today was moderately fruitful. After the care of Zoey, Larkin, other pets, and ourselves, I went back to the little house in town. I need to develop a routine for cleaning that small home. An amateur at designing houses, I did have it built with some ideas about ease of maintenance. There were many other … Continue reading

Yesterday, as I said I would, I went to the little house to clean. I worked for a few minutes before I decided it was time to go to Welcome Home for their new breakfast, “The Village Wrap”. That is a meal in a tortilla, heated like a panini; it was delicious. Craig was there, … Continue reading
