It has been a good day. I don’t really know what else to say without sounding schmaltzy.
The biggest, most rewarding task was to groom this guy. Scout is a Bernese Mountain Dog, gentle and friendly. He seemed to love human hands on him, and the shampoo and rinse, blow dry and brushing took four hours. His coat was not a matted mess, but he is large, so patience and stamina are called for. Scout has patience too. I managed to brighten the coat, noticeably the white parts, and pull out and comb all the thick undercoat.
My arms feel like they could fall off.
Kona arrived for the weekend. He is camera-shy and flattened his ears a bit for the photo. Kona is a pleasant, happy soul, usually quiet.
Young Booradley, the American Bulldog, was picked up by a joyful owner. She couldn’t help but notice how much he had grown during his three week stay.
Tilly is just staying for the weekend. I think I showed you her picture before.
As some of you know, I am plotting a trip to see two granddaughters and of course their families and some other friends. It has been a hard decision to leave home, but I long to see those wee girls and the rest. I hope to “swing by” Calgary as well.
If I can manage this, my travels will start after my Gary returns from his conference.
Am I repeating myself? Don’t care, wanted to share.
There is so much to do whether or not I do leave home.
Thank you for reading my blog. I think about many of you daily.
